Common Snowberry

Well it's not hard to figure out where this plant got its common name! The Common Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus) was noted by Meriwether Lewis in August of 1805. The flowers are tiny, pink, and brief in late Spring (in our area) and the waxy white berries emerge in Summer. The berries are not edible. I have seen these growing in many local area parks. 6/29/2013.
