Jackson Bottom Wetlands

The Jackson Bottom Wetlands in Hillsboro is a relatively short drive from our place. We visit often, mostly just to walk around and watch birds and other wildlife; and of course to snag blackberries in the Fall! I was there yesterday for a couple of hours to survey the wildflower situation. Well it was like hitting the jackpot. The place is ablaze with blooming natives and non-natives. Lots of birds as well: saw a nesting pair of Osprey, many Tree Swallows, and several Great Blue Herons.

It's going to take me a while to ID all the flowers on my camera after this visit and I may need to go back for more!
